  1. Does the parole board have to approve it first? (grin).

    Reading up on your progress, it sounds appropriate and great, and I bet Emiko will even be glad to have you home.

    I have to be very careful for maybe a month, no lifting at all.
    Cheers!

  3. So how soon will you be able to mind the store, so she can use your bike to do deliveries? (Naw, thinking of a petite lady like that... no deliveries.) But I bet she will rest better even if she has to help you occasionally at home.

  4. That is great news, Stu!

    Are the doctors letting you go home because they think your are sufficiently healed or because you've worn them down? (grin)

    Only a week in the hospital might be a record for the surgery you had. If you're doing as well as your posts sound like you are, you've probably convinced the docs to let you go.

    Hope things go as well at home.

    Blessings to you and the family.

  5. The reasons they are letting me go are threefold;
    They did a good job on the surgery, the incision and the stitching was very well done, they have kept on top of any infection as well. They did a biopsy on the drain they pulled out of my back, it showed no infection and more importantly no lymph fluid.

    The second reason is that I am being very upfront with them that I NEED to go home. My wonderful wife is carrying a large load and cannot do so forever. This is heavy on my mind and affects me making me worry and fret. They so see this as a detriment to my healing.

    Thirdly I am off the pain meds, they told me to stop when I wanted, I took the last pain pill yesterday morning (this also shows well on #1) not taking the pain pills is a sign to the docs that I am well on my way to healing. I have also been doing a minimum of a hours worth of walking at a good pace for theist few days. They are very impressed by this and are also very encouraging telling me to "Keep it up" :)

    Thus I figure all of these reasons combine to make them think…

    "I guess he is ready to go home"

    … and so I am :)

    But that "no lifting at all".... that is a tough one. Still, I'm sure you can put your mind to it!

  10. Great news Stu! No lifting. Right! I'm on orders still and the only thing I've found that weighs less the 8# limit is a glass of scotch and with meds I'm on, that's a no-no. Time heals all.

    Hang in there.
