Upcoming Hospital Stay
I will be at Jikei University Hospital
http://www.jikei.ac.jp/eng/access.html
I have no idea which building or room number, I will try to blog about that here before the surgery.
I'll not have a computer with me, but I will have my iPhone and a buddies iPod Touch, which I've loaded with audio books.
I hope I'll be able to blog with my iPhone, even if I don't have WiFi in the hospital.
I go in on the 9th of November, which is a Tuesday, in the morning, then I have the surgery on the next day, Wednesday.
I'm sure I'll not be up to visitors until Thursday, but I'll leave Emiko to coordinate that.
Cheers!

Some "Stuff" From Around The Hood...
Sometimes here in Japan you just see some funky stuff, the other day, walking to work, I saw this.....
... yeah, there goes the neighbourhood.... cheap bloody Italian cars...... :)
Then, on the way to the bank, I walked past this monstrosity.....
Yes, redneck scooter trash, right here in Tokyo!
I guess if you have to ask "Why" you most likely would never understand anyway.
Notice the car tire on the rear, yes that is a nice square profile tire, not much use going round corners on a scooter that is.....

LiveStrong.org Walk for Cancer 2010
Today I met up with about 30 people at Hibiya park in Tokyo for the LiveStrong.org Walk for Cancer 2010.
This event is held every October 2nd, and this year there were events held in over 800 cities around the world!
It was a beautiful fall day here in Tokyo warm, but not hot, sunny, but a few clouds to give some relief too.
I am very enthused about this group, I love the whole "LiveStrong" message, that cancer is something we have to beat and if we can pool our resources worldwide, we can make progress.
I am going into the hospital on October 13th to have a suspect melanoma removed from my back, I'm hoping and praying it is NOT malignant, but if it is, i will deal with that as it comes.

Yet another group shot

The Yellow Silicon bracelets have become an icon of the LiveStrong.org orginization
All in all it was a great day, I got in close to a 20km ride going there and back, and a good 4km long walk with the group. I met a bunch of very nice engaged people, I'll be taking part in other events with this group for sure.
